cool stuff 2

In Guatalajara this guy was part of a bunch of teenagers doing all this groovy stuff like juggling, haking a hakisack, BMXing ,boarding and twirling ribbons.I thought he was going to throw up but he didn't.The really interesting thing about it was that everything they were doing was in the center of the bulavard of a really busy street.

In Mexico they have very odd things for entertainment. For example, this picture is of a guy that goes around all day with his box that has a motorcycle battery and dial on top of the box. When a person pays their 10 pesos, they hold on to the metal pipes on the end of the wires and then the man turns the dial and electricity flows through the wires to the pipes. The person tries to hold on as long as he can while the guy with the box gradually turns up the power. Sometimes five or six people go in a circle and hold hands. The people on the ends with a free hand hold on to the metal pipes. The electricity goes through all the people and whoever holds on the longest wins. They want to show off to their friends how tough they are. All I could say was that Mexicans are crazy when it comes to entertainment like this!

cool stuff

Today I'm going to write about some of the funny stuff we have seen.

This is a video of a dog with a lucharo's
mask on and is standing on a bright green motorcycle. Oh, and a lucharo is a wrestler and wrestling is very popular here. We have no idea why he was on there but we saw him. I started to realize that he and his owner(who also wears a mask) was all over town and was showing off him and his dog.
The reason that tiger is in there is because it is from a circus and they are advertising their circus. We've been to a Mexican circus and they are pretty funny and odd.One time when we went to the circus the tight rope guy was all mocho and
kept shaking his butt everywhere.

Today we went to look at a house because we know another family and they don't want us to leave.
Oh, and I should probably tell you that we are going to move to another city because it's too hot here and dad's tired of Mazatlan. So we met them at their house in El Cid and followed them in our car to the house. It s on an edge of a cliff. After a few knocks on the door a van drove up and an old lady got out and apparently was the the owner. On the tour she showed us the games room(which had a telescope and a 3D TV and surroundsound). After that she showed us the place they are going to put an elevator shaft and then the pool which had a diving board that you dive off the second floor into the 4m deep pool. After the tour she gave us, all I could say was
the house was HUGE and if it was modernized it could have been Tony Stark's (who is Ironman) house.

A few days ago I went to a birthday party at Mazagua, the water park. When I got there I was blown away by the amount of candy they had. There a huge candy bar and that was filled with all different types of candy. They also had huge owl pinatas, as big as a monster trucks tires, which were filled to the top with candy. The birthday cake was made out of many cup cakes and I mean huge ones and little ones. It made a wedding cake look like an ant.

Mazagua is a water park with lots of slides and it also has a zip line that you fly over the water and drop down in to the water. One of my friends went on the yellow slide which is straight down and his shirt flew off and hit someone on the head! Also I saw a lady crossing herself because her 8 year old was going on the yellow one. While I was there I met a couple from my little home town in Canada. Small world!

My school is the oddest school ever. For example, I have two more weeks and the kids in grade six have already graduated and they have no more school. So my, teacher Mr. Frank, has to find something for us to do and today he just said, "Get a dictionary and find the oddest words in it and write them alphabetical order". Then he just sat down at his desk chair and pulled out his laptop and played the game Plants vs Zombies and after a while kids started watching him and every time he would finish a level everyone would clap like it was a show. Oh he would get really mad at you when someone would wave their hand over the screen. I hope we do something better tomorrow.

fruit salid/bike race

A few days ago we played a game called fruit salad. Here's how we played it: one person would be up front in front of the board and his desk would be to the side, so there is one desk short. All of the kids are in teams and the teams' names would a be the name of a fruit. When the person up front called a team name, the people on the team he called would have to switch desks with each other. If the person up front had a team member in the front desk and if he called his team, he could switch desks with him and probably get him or her out. If the person up front called "fruit salad!", everybody would have to switch desks. Oh, and I forgot to tell you the way you get out is if you are the person who does not get a desk.

Oh, and a few months ago Jack and I went in a bike race. This race had people from the US, and Culican, which is the capital of this state. There was also a famous Mexican cross country rider. The temperature was over 30 degrees and it was so hot, it was like riding in an oven. This was Jack's second race he went in and it was my first race. I got 4th place and I beat my friend and Jack got 1st in his category.
I won a medal and Jack won a trophy!!!

The only reason I'm writing today is because I'm sick and mom wants me to write more about the school. You see the schools here are completely different from home like some schools start at 6:50 but I start school at 8:00. Sometimes they make you wear gym clothes but you don't have gym. Or at another school they wanted a birth certificate and my original report cards. Oh, and everyone in my class sings "Happy Birthday to You" to me almost once a day because they all think it is my birthday. Another weird thing about school is that we have Spanish and everything except English in the morning and then we have recess (which I do nothing except eat and read) and then English.
